Why cold processed handmade soap?
What is Cold Process Soap?
Cold process is one of the oldest and most trusted ways to make soap. It’s a method where natural oils are mixed with a lye solution, then poured into molds and left to cure slowly over several weeks. This chemical process of converting oil into soap is called saponification. There’s no added heat—just time, care, and chemistry doing its quiet work.
What you get is a true soap: gentle, effective, and rich in skin-loving ingredients. The natural byproduct of saponification is glycerine which acts as an effective humectant for your skin. Plus each bar at Warli Touch is superfatted to give you the benefits of the carefully selected skin-loving oils.
Unlike mass-produced soaps, which are often detergent-based, every bar at Warli Touch is made from scratch using plant-based oils, and many include nourishing extras like milk, clays or herbs tailoring them to specific skin types and needs.
Are these natural additives safe?
Yes, completely. During the soapmaking process, these ingredients are transformed and balanced within the final bar. Thanks to the naturally high pH of soap, it becomes a safe environment—there’s no spoilage, no preservatives needed, just a well-aged, skin-friendly bar.
What does "superfatted" mean?
We leave a small amount of extra oil in each batch—a process called superfatting. It means not all the oils are turned into soap, so your skin gets a touch more moisture and care with every use. It’s one of the reasons handmade soap feels so different from store-bought bars.
